Sharing the Bread in Service
Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament

Our Ministries

The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament is a Congregation called to be a sign in the world of the power of the Eucharistic Christ to effect unity and community among all peoples. Guided by the spirit of St. Katharine Drexel, they are committed to sharing the Gospel with the poor, especially among the Black and Native American peoples, and to challenge the deeply rooted injustices in today’s world.

The Sisters remain engaged in diocesan African-American and intercultural ministries; social justice and ecological centers; serving as hospital chaplains; educational outreach; and social services. The Sisters at Paul’s Run Retirement Community in Philadelphia are involved in numerous volunteer ministries. In addition Sisters serve as members of the governing boards of Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans and St. Michael Indian School in St. Michaels, Arizona.
