Discerning her life’s vocation

Kate prays to know God’s will. She confides in her spiritual director, Bishop O’Connor, her attraction to religious life. For several years letters go back and forth. Bishop O’Conner believes Kate can do more for God as a layperson using her income for charitable work than as a nun. He advises her to wait. Prayerfully, Kate follows his advice.
