St. Michael Indian School opens

Making several trips to the Navajo Reservation and with the help of the Franciscans, Mother Katharine convinces Navajo head men to send their children to the new boarding school. Parents and Friars struggle through deep snow bringing a wagon load of children over the mountains to the warm welcome of the sisters.
